Joseph P. VIllarosa
A principal in the firm. Mr. Villarosa received his undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina , Columbia . (1991) and his Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School , Lansing , Michigan (1995).
Mr. Villarosa clerked for Justice Diane Marie Hathaway, then sitting on the Wayne County Circuit Court. He then formed a private practice and maintained that firm for eight years. In 2005, he joined the firm Villarosa, Nagy & Olson, PLLC.
Mr.Villarosa is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the State Bar of New Jersey. He is admitted to practice in the State Court of Michigan, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, the State Court of New Jersey and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
Mr. Villarosa is the lead counsel for the civil litigation division of the firm. He specializes in trial work for businesses and individuals as well as handling general counsel matters for business clients. Mr. Villarosa's client base is spread throughout a wide variety of industries including: automotive, construction, insurance, manufacturing, and telecommunications.
His areas of concentration are complex commercial litigation, general business litigation, construction, corporate counsel, employment, immigration and real estate.
John L. Nagy
Mr. Nagy has been a principal of the firm for almost 40 years. He applies his vast expertise to each case in our office and shares his knowledge with our entire staff. Mr. Nagy received his undergraduate degree from the Wayne State University (1955) and his Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School , Detroit , Michigan . (1957).
Mr. Nagy was city attorney for the city of Highland Park , Michigan . He then ran a private practice for over 25 years before joining the firm Villarosa, Nagy & Olson, PLLC.
Mr. Nagy is a member of the State Bar of Michigan. He is admitted to practice in the State Court of Michigan and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
Mr. Nagy is engaged in the general practice of law. Areas of concentration are divorce, criminal, real estate, estate planning and probate and landlord/tenant.
Kurt A. Olson
A principal in the firm. Mr. Olson has been practicing law for over 15 years. He received his undergraduate degree with honors from the University of Michigan , Ann Arbor , Michigan (1979) and received his Juris Doctor from Wayne State Law School , Detroit , Michigan (1985).
Mr. Olson interned for Justice P. Pratt of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, and was an Assistant City Attorney for the cities of River Rouge and Ecorse , Michigan. Mr. Olson then maintained a private practice for over 10 years before joining the firm Villarosa, Nagy & Olson, PLLC.
Mr. Olson is a member of the State Bar of Michigan. He is admitted to practice in the State Court of Michigan, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and the Sixth Circuit Court of appeals. Mr. Olson is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.
Mr. Olson specializes in probate, estate planning, elder law, Alzheimer's planning, general business, real estate, criminal, drunk driving defense and general civil litigation.
T. Edwin Scott
Mr. Scott maintains an "of counsel" relationship to the firm. Mr. Scott earned his undergraduate degree from Indiana University , Bloomington , Indiana (1992) and his J.D. from Thomas M. Cooley Law School , Lansing , Michigan (1996).
Mr. Scott is a member of the State Bar of Indiana. He is admitted to practice in the State Court of Indiana and the U.S. District Court for the District of Indiana.

Mr. Scott specializes in corporate litigation and serves as general counsel to numerous business clients. He also handles construction, health care, employment, immigration and personal injury matters.
Larry Barkoff Mr. Barkoff maintains an "of counsel" relationship to the firm. Mr. Barkoff earned his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University , East Lansing , Michigan (1990), his Master of Labor and Industrial Relations from Michigan State University , East Lansing , Michigan (1991), and a Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School , Detroit , Michigan (2001).

Mr. Barkoff was an associate attorney with the firm Plunkett & Cooney, Bloomfield Hills , Michigan until he accepted the position of Assistant General Counsel for Eastern Michigan University , Ypsilanti , Michigan .
